Multi-Tiered System of Supports

The Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) provides supports and resources to all students in order for them to be successful. MTSS has 3 domains: Academic, Behavioral, and Social Emotional. The MTMDSS framework has 3 tiers:
 
  • Tier 1: focuses on what all students receive in order to be successful academically, behaviorally and socially/emotionally.
 
  • Tier 2: provides small-group strategic intervention to students who need more support in order to achieve success.
 
  • Tier 3: includes intensive intervention for students who need individualized supports in order to be successful academically, behaviorally, and socially/emotionally.
