Native American Education Program
The Native American Education Program is designed to address the unique cultural, language, and educationally related academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students, including preschool children. The program is the Department's principal vehicle for addressing the particular needs of Indian children.
This program is funded by the Title VI Indian Education Formula Grants funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Indian Education.

How Do I Qualify?
The Native American Education Program is for all students who are Native American or Alaska Native, or have a parent/grandparent who is Native American and are enrolled in a federally recognized tribe. You can support in the District's development of its program and Title VI Program by completing an ED 506 Eligibility Form.
An Ed 506 Form must be completed, signed, and dated by the child’s parent/guardian to certify an Indian student’s eligibility for the program. A separate form is required for each child. If you have previously submitted an eligibility form, you do not need to submit a new form.
Documents:
- Letter: TRUSD-Title-VI-Part-I-Letter.pdf
- Title VI Ed 506 Student Eligibility Form: Title-VI-506-Form.pdf
If you would like your child to receive future support and services provided by the Title VI Formula Grant, please complete and return the enclosed Ed 506. You can return the completed form to you student’s school, the district office or email it back to: Native.Ed@trusd.net
